'Incontro al lago'
Let me take you to Lentini, Sicily, where I painted a mural for 'Badia Lost & Found' as part of the project "Hollandme", where 6 Dutch artists were invited by the Dutch Embassy to paint in Italy. I couldn't have ended up in a better place, these people were so passionate about art.
The mural is called 'Incontro al lago' (meeting at the lake) and depicts a local bird, the Pollo sultano, and a Roseate spoonbill, which is a migrant bird that flies to Sicily during the winter months. It is about appreciating what you have, and welcoming new visitors, new influences, new ideas. It celebrates diversity.
Size: 12 x 13 meters
Thanks to Blind Walls Gallery for sending me to Lentini!
